There are 3 parts in the book to start with and each part tries to answers some of the questions we have on Karma. Karma for those who don’t know is simply called action. When we step into milestones in our life everything depends on certain things we did or we do in life and these actions are governed by our inner mechanism. Often we confuse ourselves that we are governed by life and it is entirely wrong. Everything in this universe is built on the same elements that our physical body is built on. The whole book is having 17 sutras which can be anchors for our living with joy.

Part One

The first part of the book explains the definition of Karma. How it is made up of. Our body is made up of 8 types of memories and each of them has its own nature. Our cells in the body have the capability to store a million times more memory than what our brain could store or accumulate. Everything you do each breath you respire will leave a mark or tendencies which will turn into vasanas (imprints we leave upon every interaction we do with nature). These are all stitched together in a physical, mental, and energetic way written in the book. It requires a bit of concentration to understand it thoroughly but it is interesting.

Sanchita, Prarabdha & Agami are the main types of Karma which we deal with in our creation where Sanchita is the warehouse, Prarabdha Karma is allotted karma for one’s lifetime. Agami Karma is something that we accumulate in real-time.

Part Two

The second part of the book explains the details of how to burn allotted Karma in 3 main ways i.e Physical, Mentally, Spiritually. Physical activities that are performed without expecting results are the catalysts to burn our karma. Mentally sitting still and just look at things as they are without comparison is one way to burn karma. As spiritual seekers, we can simply experience enlightenment in every way of life and one good example of that is understanding the cosmic balance and for that, we can do practices such as Isha Kriya which establishes a boundary around us. Attaining Mahasamadhi is an unfathomable ecstasy of boundless existence.

The very interesting part came when Sadhguru explains with examples and relates to the real world to understand how we can experience life. Thinking about dissolving karma itself accumulates more karma. One basic way to make sure that we dissolve karma is by living conscious life in every decision we make. An unconscious living will always lead to the accumulation of karma.

Part Three

Part Three is about total understanding and FAQs from the questioner. Sadhguru explains how we need to treat karma and whether our understanding suffices to be the masters of our life. How exactly animals are different than us in accumulating karma. He also explains that having free will is like a blessing but most of us consider that as suffering. We need to be the drivers of our life instead of letting karma drive us. This is when we all can collectively accumulate karma that helps our society to grow toward goodness.

Conclusion

Overall, this book opens the reader’s eye and makes the reader share the knowledge with others. Taking control of life is always an internal struggle and we all should remember that external forces are always act on us but everything we are made from the elements that created the universe. Unlocking the mystery is all inside us when we reach the deepest memory, we can understand the evolution process of life. Karma is a life force that keeps the physical existence. Without it physical bodies will not exist — At least as I understood — The universe is one good space where all energies will act upon to create forces that we today call matters and bodies.

This book is definitely not a one-time read. To understand it completely, try to read at least twice. This is not a spiritual book. This is the book of energy that we interact with daily in our lives. I hope we will collectively attain the consciousness to go beyond. But first, understanding our internal energies of physical, mental, and spiritual bodies is necessary.
