It happens every day in our life to be efficient and friendly with the people we meet. Communicating with others and helping them to be with us freely as they can be is a challenging task for us. We can feel empathy easily but to make others feel a rapport, is a challenging task. To make it easy, this is where attitude takes its place.

Your nature depends on your character and attitude has got primary importance about our behavior with others. Attitude is a three-dimensional character to have,

  • Self-centered: It is the dimension of our inner self in which how we treat ourselves to be patient, calm and reasonable.
  • Empathic behavior: Empathy is shown to others by understanding them which comes inside of us. To feel empathy for others we must feel humbleness, compassion, and humility (Down to earth).
  • Confidence: The most important dimension of attitude is about having trust in doing things that matters to others. Taking decisions to make sure the best things happen. Choosing the right choices that help us to stay who we are instead of governed by someone.

These 3 dimensions of attitude come with great consistency. To make things easy, we need to understand what makes us better with attitude. How to develop it within ourselves to be with others? How do we need to bargain with attitude?

How to develop an attitude?

Every individual has an attitude of their own. We can also distinguish the type of people in two ways, extroverts and introverts. Extroverts are those who always like to hang out and express what they feel without any sort of hesitation. Moreover, introverts are more self-concentrated with less talking and hanging out habits. They always look after themselves.

To develop an attitude, we need to be more of the two having combinations inside us. We need to switch types upon situations. We need to talk when we need to and be silent when we need not talk. We need to assess situations that matter where we need to speak what others want to hear from us. People only listen to those words that they want to listen to. They don’t remember anything you tell except that. In this situation the three-dimensional quality cones to play. You should be confident enough to speak with the person who is less interested to listen to the words you say.

You need to speak what they want to listen to. This quality in you comes upon feeling empathy toward the other person. Empathy comes from the first dimension we read about, i.e. Self-centered or self-awareness. While we are talking to a person, we must remain calm and patient to get to know them and what they are made up of. Just talk for a few mins before talking about the topic you intended to. Know the person by his name and let him introduce himself to you. This makes you understand the person better.

Once you understand what he is up to, you can tailor your speech to him in the way he likes you and your words. In my own experience, when my manager asked me about something that was related to his business transaction flows,

I just told him the ways where we can generate revenue by doing innovation in the team. If I say to him that the team needs innovation, without a revenue model, he never agreed to me and liked my idea. By my words, he got impressed and started to like me from day one. In that short conversation, I was confident in my words, gave him time at the start to talk about his expectations and understood him. After getting a clear idea about what he needs, I went through with the same idea of mine and explored the advantages of the increase in the revenue. If there was a conversation without revenue, there would be no approval of my words or the conversation would not be convincing at all.

In every conversation, we need to follow the 3-dimensional approach to get good results and the people to like our attitude. Take the bottom to top approach. All those 3 dimensions are to be within you. It is not meant for other people around you. If you take the approach, I hope your day will be better and fruitful in any workplace or with your family or partner.

How to bargain with the attitude?

Bargaining with attitude is so simple. You just have to be aware of the situations and need to follow a few simple steps that make you stand out among others with a good attitude.

According to Dale Carnegie, the author of “How to Win Friends & Influence People” — he suggests very basic changes that we need to incorporate in our daily lives to be good to others. This helps in our attitude and point of view about others. We develop kindness, gratitude, and peace through the changes.

I like to list 5 of those best changes we can make to bargain without attitude:

  • Don’t criticize anyone
  • Have a smile in your face while talking to others
  • Appreciate the person even for their small contributions
  • Don’t be sorrier instead of thanking them.
  • Active listening

These 5 changes in our everyday life help us to build our character and that builds the attitude. Being simple and polite is always the toughest task with all the distractions that are present in the world.

Our emotions hold us and keep tinkering with our minds and play with it. Having a better attitude helps you to be emotionally strong and subtle. Building a flexible mindset to switch back to good from bad distractions as quick as you can help you to develop and bargain with attitude.

Conclusion:

Attitude can be considered in 2 ways either good or bad but always having a good attitude which talks about 3 dimensions is the better way to get yourself to be liked by others.

It is always not about caring for others, it is about others caring for you. If you care for others, they will always care for you and wish you for your well being. Care for others for your sake. Respect others feeling so that someday someone respects yours. You may not get the same care from the same person you care about, you can be cared for by different people all around the world.

Learn to build a great attitude as this tells you how much worthy you are as a human. Smile at others, be good to them by appreciating their small doings. Listen to them and understand them to make youself to feel empathic which makes you not to criticize. Be the one who understands and respond rather than lashing out without dedication and perseverance.
