Deep with our life, we survive, thrive and gain a lot of experiences that come from the moment we spend. In today’s PWG, I am going to take you on a small journey by talking about knowledge and its power. Every living creature possesses knowledge of its being humans, we explore the wider possibilities to gain it. We sail across the universe to feed our curiosity. Knowing is something different from exploring in which both provide us knowledge. There is an infinite resource to gain knowledge these days, the Internet, Books, Media, Networking are the major sources.

Richard Rorty explains in his book about the theory of knowledge and he beautifully compared it to the existence of philosophy in his book, “Philosophy and the Mirror of Nature” he says,

The eventual demarcation of philosophy from science was made possible by the notion that philosophy’s core was “theory of knowledge,” a theory distinct from the sciences because it was their foundation… Without this idea of a “theory of knowledge,” it is hard to imagine what “philosophy” could have been in the age of modern science.

He compares beautifully between modern science and philosophy in which without the theory of knowledge, philosophy can’t exist in this modern scientific world. Knowledge is power as long as we accumulate it daily. I was reading an article recently where a philosophic person reads an average of 1,000 books in his lifetime to keep himself down to earth with the vastness of available resources.

Knowledge comes from everywhere starts from your birth at the moment you start crying naked till you become naked at your funeral. We design our lives with the kind of knowledge we process in our minds. I saw many people who live for knowledge and others enjoy it. Gaining knowledge is not difficult and it is something you need to open your brain for.

Every living creature passes their knowledge on through generations of their existence in their way. Wild animals teach their cubs about how to hunt their prey, animals like Deer, they teach how to be fast enough so that they can escape from their predators. Being humans we write books, crave paintings, teach and draw characters to pass our knowledge to our younger generations. Either way, knowledge is infinite and there will always be so much to learn, We can either learn by inspiring ourselves to become predators or to become great escapists. It helps us to live and survive in this universe.

We usually divide knowledge in 2 forms, practical & theory in which practical knowledge is earned by experience and theory is the way we think of we learn from available resources. When it comes to the modern era, the vastness of available knowledge is extremely high compared to the old times. Different people acquire different kinds of knowledge. Starting from sociology, science, mathematical and philosophical ways.

Knowledge has dimensions, perspectives, and culture to deal with. According to the sociologist Mervin F. Verbit, knowledge may be understood as one of the key components of religiosity. Religious knowledge itself may be broken down into four dimensions:

  • Content: It varies from person to person.
  • Frequency: How knowledge occupies a person’s mind.
  • Intensity: Importance of the knowledge and the purpose to know it
  • Centrality: Tradition of the origin of that knowledge

The above 4D of knowledge helps every one of us to see through the depth of it and change the way we understand the possibilities.

It makes sense when we see our minds with the power of knowledge we have collected since the beginning of our life. Still, the fact is that we would be using not more than 10% of our capabilities and what our brain can do. As long as we train our minds to contain knowledge, we adore life. Lack of knowledge is not the absence of it, it means useless information in our brain where it cannot be used to any circumstance. No knowledge is useless until we find a way to use it and take advantage of it. We just need to focus on how to construct the information in the right place at the right time, this is called commonsense.

As research says, commonsense is inversely proportional to knowledge. Where there is more knowledge, commonsense will be less in that person but yet resourceful brains can handle both of them with a constantly called skill. As long as we have skills to control commonsense and knowledge, we can keep learning without any side effects from knowledge.

Knowledge = Skills/Commonsense

Every living creature possesses knowledge in the form of survival and to lead life. Being humans we construct ourselves differently than other creatures and expect to lead life differently from other beings. We have our Music, Religion, Culture, Behaviors, Languages, Subjects with all of them collided with a single entity called life. Knowledge exists to live and it is there for the survival of creatures. Exploring different possibilities makes us humans unique. We like to dominate the world may be with kindness, humanity or ruling but, the key is for everything is the knowledge. It is vast, it is unimaginable and it exists for a reason. The way we preserve gives life to it. Sustenance of knowledge and the true meaning of it is in the hands of humans. I can say, it is the most powerful tool to defeat anything in this universe. Power comes from different places so do knowledge.

Happiness is a form of knowledge and it represents the power artistically. We live to gain the power, the power comes from shared knowledge. It can only be encountered collectively as a team. This is where social living kicks in and from it, we discover new possibilities to live, there comes science and from science, calculation exists which makes life more curious to live. That curiosity starts religion. We should be lucky to see all 4 comes together to to form who we are.
